Sewing Machine Update

So it turns out I'm a complete TWIT when it came to the sewing machine, I had the whole thing rigged up fine and all my threading was done properly, I just didn't know to put a little lever down to make the stitching actually happen. Oops! What a complete muppet... Mum sorted the problem within about 2 secs of me getting there! My tension was a little bit off too! he he he... so watch this space, I'll have stitching on my cards soon!

Under the Sea!

Morning Bloggers!

I hope everyone is good today! Well my not drinking yesterday went out of the window... woops! I wasn't too bad though, well... one bottle of wine. Oh dear! lol Today I'm off to meet my friends mum to collect some things I'd ordered then I'm going to my own mum's to get her to help me with my mini-sewing machine. I have spent a good 2 hours this morning trying to work out how to work the bugger but I'm at a complete loss - what a dunce! I want to be able to do stitching around the edges of my cards, like I've seen so many of you other fabby people do. Hopefully my mum can help, she was asking me questions about the machine... like a completely different language to me! D'oh where did I go wrong?! lol

On to today's card, the whole time I was making this I was either singing or whistling Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid. This is a digi-stamp from the Pink Cat studio, who's link blinkie is in my side bar should you fancy a peak at their goodies. I've coloured my mermaid with copics, added some vanilla smooch spritz to her tail, but I used a paint brush to do this, otherwise - MESS! I also put a bit of gold glamour dust on the star fish. The fishy paper is by doodlebug, the blue paper is daisy & dandelion and the backing cards I can't remember! I've also embossed the teal backing card with the circles and dots embossing folder, thought it looked a bit like bubbles!

Well I hope you like today's creation and you all enjoy what's rest of the weekend! Take Care and thanks for visiting! Lyns xx

Sister's Birthday

HELLO BLOGGERS AND HAPPY SATURDAY!

Tomorrow is my little sister's birthday, she is having a bit of a gathering this afternoon which should be good. I think the idea is to get herself into a drunken mess! lol She's going out later in the night too but after too much drink over the last few weeks, I'm staying off it! he he...

On to the card, this is ANOTHER popcorn the bear image that I coloured a while back following a tutorial that Suzanne at Scrapbitz did. It's a great way to make the bear look really FUZZY!

As my sister has asked for money instead of a present, I thought I'd make a little wallet area in the card to put the money into. She wants to buy a new ipod, I'm sure this will be the third or fourth that she's on to... my family are a bit clumsy and we all have a bit of a habit of breaking things... woops!

To make the little wallet area, I folded and stuck the edges of a pink card down to the card, I also embossed using the birthday folder for the cuttlebug the green card and stuck this over the top. I made a little writing area with my nesties on my bug, the stamp is a sentiment that comes with popcorn as are the extra balloons.

Well I hope you guys like the card and more importantly I hope my sister does! Hope you all have a great weekend, take care and thanks for looking! Lyns xx

Pepper the Dog!

FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAY!!!!!

Woo hoo! Can you tell I'm glad it's the weekend? It's been a busy and hard week, I'm pretty tired. I've not got a great deal planned this weekend, tomorrow is my usual driving lesson... where I'll hopefully get my manoeuvres nailed! Parallel park is my weakest so hopefully I can get it down tomorrow. My problem is I just try to go too fast and whilst I'm looking out the back window I forget which way I've turned the wheel and how much! d'oh! I'll get there eventually.

Today's card I've made from my lovely new stamps Pepper and Friends, he's so cute! There is three main stamps in the set for only £5.95, bargain I think! Pepper has been coloured with copics, added a little glamour dust mounted onto card and foam mounted onto the butterfly paper which I think DCWV, I also coloured the ribbon with copics. This has been a fun card to make.

Thought I'd give you a sideways view. I hope you guys like it and have a great weekend! Thanks for visiting Lyns xx

Another Popcorn...

Wash your Thursday Worries Away!

Hope everyone is doing good today, it's been one of them stupid Scotland-weather days... rain, sun, hail, wind... pft! Hate it when it's like this. I have a holiday booked off work soon, although I'm staying at home but it would be nice if at least the weather stayed nice!

On to my card, another popcorn... I'm slightly addicted to these stamps! I was bad again today bought some more stamps... oops! They are Pepper the dog ones, so cute! Can't wait for them to come. Anyway digressing again, my card! I used my new martha stewart punch, coloured my bear with copics, added smooch vanilla spritz, gloss, paper is magnolia and the brads are papermania.

I'm trying to give you a close up of the gloss in this, I think it makes it look more like water, picture isn't too great I'm afraid.

Well thanks for visiting folks! I think I need an early night tonight. Not long till the weekend, but hope you are all having a good week! Take Care, Lyns xx

New Crafting Goodies

HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE!

Well I hope you are all doing well, I have been a wee bitty naughty and bought some more yummy crafting goodies! woops! What's with that... where crafty things just jump into your virtual basket then pay with your credit card???? Who knows! lol So I've been having a great time playing with my new things tonight.

This is the new popcorn the bear stamp, splishing and splashing in the bath. I think it's really cute! I tried to make popcorn look fuzzy! I spritzed him with smooch vanilla spritz to get the shimmer, I have added some Anita's 3D gloss to the water to make it look more real. Images are coloured with copics and the paper is some of the magnolia paper, which I think is so cute! I really fancy some of the strawberries and cream paper, but alas glitterpot had none left :o( Oh well! I bought the starry paper too... will get a play with that tomorrow night :o)

Well off to get some reading in... I've been reading Stieg Larsson : The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Fab series of books, so far I'm totally gripped with this book!

Take Care and Thanks for Looking!

Bad Blogger!

Good Morning Bloggers!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted, I've been a busy little bee! I have still been making cards, I've just not had the chance to upload and bloghop :o( It was my friend Gill's Hen Night last weekend, which was a lot of fun! Lots of games and madness and of course - WINE! I am the chief bridesmaid so it was my job to arrange everything. I had them play a game of make bride's dresses out of toilet roll, it was brilliant... so funny! They had corsages, bouquets and bows all made of toilet paper! Brilliant fun! I can safely say it's the last hen night I want to arrange though, wow stressful, with the last minute changes... it's always the way! lol I've also been bashing on with my driving lessons, I have my test booked, but I wont share when it is, I'll just let you all know if I pass! lol

Anyway, on to the cards! I have mad two father's day cards using a sketch in the most recent Cardmaking and Papercraft. I always think men's card should be more simple in style. First one is for my dad, second is for the OH's dad. The digi-stamp is from Pollycraft designs, it costs £1.50 and is all for Charity which is great! :o) I coloured him with my copics and the backing papers are from my stash! Sentiment's were both printed on my printer.

This second card is a wee one I made to give my mojo a boost, it was also one from Cardmaking and Papercraft, as is the stamps. I changed little bits here and there to suit my style more. I coloured little Bently Bear with copics and I used my Martha Stewart Punch to make the doily edge.

Well Guys, thanks for looking! I'm off for a blog hop now! Take Care, Lyns xx

Happy and Sad...

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

At least we are half way through the week. I had to work late last night, I didn't get home until 8.30 so I was quite tired but I managed to get a card finished off that I'd started in the morning. I'd had the dentist yesterday morning for a check-up (eurgh... dentist is NOT my favourite place to go) which I didn't have to go to until 9am the dentist is close to my house. So I ended up having quite a bit of spare time before going so I started making my friend an Anniversary card, unfortunately during this time, I got a call from OH's brother. His Fiancée's sister died on Monday, she was not a well girl anyway but this was very unexpected. I know she's now in a better place.

On to my cards, the anniversary card is for my friend Sarah who I was a bridesmaid for. The paper is papermania as I used earlier in the week, with my penny johnson bears celebrating stamp and I also used my doily lace punch. I coloured the bears with copics (just for a change - lol) and added the some gold glamour dust for the champagne.

This second card is for my Brother-in-law's fiancée, I tried to make a card that was sweet but sympathetic, hopefully I've achieved this. Again I used the papermania papers, I cut the big roses out of one sheet and stuck these down in the corner. I printed the sentiment from my laptop and cut with my nesties. I hope this card is appropriate, I've never had to make a sympathy card before.

Well thanks for looking everyone, I hope you are all having a good week. Take care, Lyns xx

Fun in the Sun

Evening Everyone,

I bought this digi stamp from the Pink Cat Studio, I think it is so fun and cheery! Now this wasn't my first attempt at colouring the stamp... copics and my printer ink DO NOT mix! lol so it all went a bit smudgy black to begin with - D'oh! I printed another one and coloured more carefully. I took inspiration from the papers which are part of the Posie Stack, I also added a little bit of gold glamour dust to the star fish which I think just sets them off nicely. The gems are papermania. I'm still having bother adding the other card I made at the weekend, I think there must be something up with the file! ah well! I give in! Take Care folks, hope you all have a good night. Thanks for visiting, Lyns xx

Trouble Uploading!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a nice weekend, I spent most of mine entertaining my brother - wow 10 year old's are demanding! lol It was fun though. We played some badminton, went swimming, enjoyed a Frankie & Benny's - their puddings are LUSH! I had warm chocolate brownies with ice cream and cream... mmm yummy! Once we'd had our tea we went home and settled down to Avatar. It's such a fab film I could watch it over and over. It's brilliant! Yesterday we managed to have a BBQ at my Mum's unfortunately it got a bit chilly!

Down to the cards. I managed to make two cards unfortunately one of the cards I've photographed keeps uploading upside down... dunno why! Once I work out what the problem is I will upload the picture of the cards. The papers are from papermania and the stamp is Penny Johnson coloured with my copics and topped with a little bit of glamour dust!

Well I hope you like it! Take care and thanks for looking! Lyns xx

Chilling and Crafting

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Yippee the weekend has officially begun! It's been a bit of a chaotic week so I'm glad of the rest. Work has been the usual mad-house and two of my friends have fallen out and I'm really worried about them both. I just want everyone to be happy and not upset but eurgh... what can you do but listen and try to be objective.

Anyhoo, after hitting the gym after work I thought I'd come home and chill with my craft things. Always helps me to wind down and relax. I got OH to pick out some paper with this stamp in mind, he picked out the stripey paper so I chose the paper with the flowers to go with it. The stamp is coloured with copics, papers are the DCWV Garden Stack, flowers are prima flowers. I'm not sure what occasion this card would be for, but I think it's pretty anyway!

Well tomorrow I have a driving lesson and then picking up my wee bro for a day of madness! Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks again for visiting my blog! Lyns xx

Brush Strokes

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm glad we are almost at the weekend :o) I was a bit disappointed today to wake up and to a couple of icky things. The fact that it looks like we are heading toward a hung parliament and a couple of my friends have fallen out :o( makes me very sad. Anyway, these are two things I have no control over so I'm not going to get worked up!

Yesterday I had a pop by Susanne's Blog - which is incredible you really should go have a look - where she has a tutorial video on colouring the fur on popcorn. Needless to say I thought it was brilliant as I have a couple of popcorn stamps which I'm sure some of you already know. So I thought I'd give it a bash as I always feel my method of colouring popcorn is a bit flat. I'd love to know what you guys think of him? It's my first time colouring in this way (to see how I've done him before click here) Unfortunately my photo isn't the best but I hope you get the idea. Anyway, I better get on. Thanks for visiting! Take Care, Lyns xx

Father's Day Card

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all having a great week, it's been a long one for me! I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm having my little brother to stay, we are going to play some badminton, go swimming and make our own burgers and popcorn. He also tells me we'll be watching Thunderbirds Movie - can't say it's my first choice but hey ho!

This card is one I thought would be a good father's day card, quite simple, but jazzy at the same time. I love these papers and hated cutting them up but I love seeing them as a card. They are part of the DCWV Glitter Stack which has loads of fab papers in it. The stamp is a Penny Black clear stamp coloured as always with copics.

Well I better get on with some work, hope you all have a great day! Take Care, Lyns xx

UP, UP and away....

Morning Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good day today, it's a lovely sunny day with us here. I just hope it warms up a bit. I saw on the news that the Volcano is at its tricks again, thankfully Edinburgh Airport is still open for now, but I know Glasgow is closed and the travellers are being coached through to Edinburgh. It's such a shame for the people who wind up stranded somewhere and can't get home. If you are one of those people, my thoughts are with you!

Today's card is a bright and cheery birthday card. I have been eager to try the out of the box technique with my nesties for some time so here's my first attempt. I think it has gone pretty well actually! I always show the cards I make to my OH when they're done and the first thing he said was 'It's like UP!' As soon as he said that I wish I'd drawn more balloons so that it really is like UP. I will try that next time. The stamp is a Penny Black Clear Set, papers are doodlebug, the buttons are just a random selection I bought.

Well I hope you all have a great day and with any luck the volcano will chill out a bit today!! Thanks for visiting! Lyns xx

Scalloped Round Card

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well today, I'm not enjoying being up this early but hey ho... gotta work! I made this card last night using my nesties. I used to the biggest scalloped nestie and cut out two of the card shapes in pink and then stuck the tops together. I coloured the little stamp with my copics. The beads are from the capsule collection.

Well I better go and get ready for work! boooo... My winning the lottery plans aren't exactly fool proof but I'll keep trying! TFL, Lyns xxx

Cakes and Cards

Good Afternoon Bloggers,

I hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend and that the weather isn't being too mean! It's a nice sunny day in Edinburgh today, albeit a little bit chilly. Where is the summer.... Now I have to stress, summer is a blood-relative of winter in Scotland but still a wee bit of heat wouldn't go a miss! Just up a degree or two so we could get the barbi out... I can dream!

I had a nice weekend, although I was a little unwell for some of it. I had another driving lesson on Saturday morning that went very well. I'm practising all my manoeuvres now, which means I'm getting a very sore neck looking out the back window all the time reversing. It is going well though and I'm pretty much independent on most things now. I can pretty much drive anywhere without being told what to do by OH now, so I'm assuming that's a good thing! :o)

It was my younger sisters birthday at the weekend, so I made her a chocolate birthday cake, what do you think? I am pleased to say that it went down well and people preferred it to the bought one :o)

Now down to the cards I made. I started out making this easel card with the intention of it being a shaker card with some glitter, unfortunately the glue on the acetate is STILL wet. I'm having to admit defeat and will probably start the shaker bit again... meantime this is what the card looks like:

The inspiration for this second card came from the green buttons, I nipped into the craft shop at the weekend (I drove... I get much more decision on the destination I find when I'm driving! he he he...) and I picked up these buttons. I unfortunately didn't get much else as the stock was a little low at the moment. Although I notice they are now selling copics! Yippee! I had to replace my B00, (my sister had ran this down colouring in a picture of Stitch), I'm hoping that they get some more stock in soon. I have coloured my little bear with my copics and used my bug to emboss the yellow card. I used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch for the edge of the green card. I think this card is quite simple but nice! Anyway, thanks for dropping by and keeping up with my blog... despite me being very lax of late. I'm hoping once the wedding of the year is past I'll have a bit more time to craft and blog.

Take care, Lyns xxx
