Stylish Award!

Hi Everyone, happy Monday! pft yeah right! Monday's are BAD! lol

I've beena BAD blogger the last week, but it's because I held a wee crafty day at the weekend and spent most of my time helping everyone else - so I actually didn't make a single thing! :o( so not fair! lol I did however help my Mum make her first card, which she loves so much she doesn't actually want to give it away! lol It was great fun though and so fun catching up with my Mum, Sister and Besty Sarah.

I received this fabulous award from Karen so thank you very much - her cards are incredible, please take a look! As with most awards comes a mini challenge so here are the rules!

Step 1 - Make a post linking back to the person who gave you the award!
Step 2 - Share 7 random things about yourself
Step 3 – Award 5 recently discovered bloggers with this award
Step 4 – Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won the award

Hmmm... seven random things about me, erm...

  1. I'm addicted to music, I have LOADS of it. I love lots of different types too, so I'm pretty much anything goes. I have just downloaded Jessie J's new album, it's wicked!
  2. I was one of those people who didn't get 'twi-hards' to begin with... until I read the books... Now I'm a complete Edward lover!
  3. I'm also addicted to chewing gum, I am always munching the stuff! Particularly Wrigleys 5 Gum.
  4. Stamping is my favourite way to make a card, I will normally start there first and work from there.
  5. I know all the words to Eminem ft. Rihanna's Love the Way You Lie.
  6. I have 8 piercings and would love a tattoo but can't decide on the perfect one and I know I'd become addicted to them too!
  7. I love the Pink Panther!

Well that was certainly random... I'm a bit of a dull person!

and now for part 3

blogs that I have recently come across and love their style are

Well I hope you guys pay these folks a visit, their blogs are wicked!

Take care everyone and thanks for visiting! Lyns xx

Weekend Chill

Hey Everyone!

Hope you have all had a good weekend! Mine has been pretty good, fairly chilled today thankfully. I was at an Evening Wedding Reception of a friend on Friday night at one of the best hotels in Edinburgh. It was stunning, the bride looked incredibly gorgeous, well she always does but she just glowed even more, she was a sparkling beauty... and well I'll give the groom a shout too, he looked very dapper! There was a brilliant ceildh, I went prepared with my wee flat shoes and did a power of dancing... but by God my stamina is nowhere near as good as it should be! By the end of the night, I was incredibly shattered! But it was worth it, it was a great night.

On to my little card.... I was inspired with the colour create challenge, which was brown, red and cream... I don't really think I've done a great job of capturing the colours but meh! It'll do!

My stamp is LOTV, she's a wee cutie! Coloured with copics as always, forever friends papers, ribbon recycled from a box of choccies and my gems are papermania. I also blinged up her wings and wand with stickles.

Hope you guys like my wee card today, she's not my best work... I'm not feeling it myself but my friend said she liked it more than other ones that I thought were better. I guess it's all individual opinion! Well take care guys and thank you for visiting me! Lyns xx

You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged

Dear bloggers:
The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, probably more known than mine but I just want to share their gorgeeous cards if you haven't already visited them! So I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers deserve this award but rules is rules & I am passing this onto....
I have picked the above blogs as ones I find inspirational, less than 3,000 followers and hopefully that haven't had this award before. Please share on guys!

Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

Evening Everyone!

My total guilty pleasure is definitely Big Fat Gypsy Weddings on Channel 4, absolutely love it!! The Irish Traveller dresses are incredible, they are soooo big it's crazy. I do feel a little bit that they are over the top sometimes but I guess to some people they might think the dress I have chosen to be wed in is over the top so I say each to their own! It's been a fantastic series and I'm gutted it is finished now.

My card tonight, is in honour of the gypsy weddings, I took some inspiration from Dena's card on her blog but went with a bit more simplicity.

The little stamp is from LOTV and is as always coloured with copics and had stickles added to make her sparkle. I used my dots folder on my cuttlebug for the embossing and as a real testament to weddings, the ribbon was wrapped around my bridesmaid flowers for my friend Gill's wedding. I was only going to add one heart charm but thought... it's a wedding card, surely two hearts is better!!

I hope you guys like my card, hopefully it's not too simple. Thanks for visiting guys! Take care, Lyns xx

Grandpa's Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post today! Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are all doing something mushy and lovey today. We'll be having a quiet day as we spent most of our weekend watching rugby and trying to chillax. I made this card yesterday for OH's Grandpa, who's birthday is on Wednesday. Male cards are always a nightmare, but I find that older men aren't quite as hard. I think the worst male age group has to be 12 - 60! Pretty much most of their lives! lol

My image is popcorn the bear relaxing in his garden, he's coloured with copics. I coloured popcorn using the technique demonstrated by Suzanne from Scrapbitz it's a great way of making the bears look 'fuzzy'.
The paper is DCWV, part of the Garden Stack. Grandpa is a big green fan so I thought this paper was nice. The flourish pattern gives it something extra and a bit of glitz without being too feminine. The ribbon I rescued from a box of chocolates! It's a gorgeous colour and the little gold specks just give it something extra. I added the motorbike charm as I'm on a bit of a charm loving spree! lol
Here's a close up of popcorn chilling! The Gems are part of the papermania capsule collection.

Hope you like today's card! I'm sure to be back with something for you later this week! Thanks for visiting and take care! Lyns xx

Oh Dear...

Hi Friends,

Oh dear... so the Rugby didn't go in any way like I hoped! Scotland were WOEFUL! I am embarrassed to say. It was a nervous and messy team yesterday, so I'm not so looking forward to the Ireland game now. I will however have my secret weapon, my little brother, who was with us when Scotland beat Australia, so we now believe he is a good luck charm! Here is hoping!
On to my card, which I managed to make in between screaming at the television yesterday. This image is an LOTV cutie. I coloured her with my copics and used stickles to glitter her up.

My papers are papermania as is the coloured card and gems. I bought the ribbon from John Lewis and the charm and chain, which I think is sooooo cute! The sentiment is also LOTV with stickles around the edge.

A close up for you of my image. I recently watched some brilliant videos by Suzanne Dean, her copic colouring videos are incredible! I wish I had a smidgen of her talent, if you'd like help colouring with copics (I imagine principles are the same for promarkers too) check out her blog here.

I hope you are all having a great weekend and as always thank you for paying me a visit! Take Care, Lyns xx

Wallet Card

Happy Weekend Guys! So happy it's the weekend! he he...

What have you all got planned for the weekend? This weekend is all about the rugby... hoping that Scotland can beat Wales today (sorry any Welshies reading!) We will be meeting up with some friends later on tonight, hopefully to celebrate! But either way it will be fun! At the end of the month we're going the Scotland -v- Ireland game, which is an immense atmosphere at this game so it's always our favourite to go to. Tomorrow we will be going over wedding plans with our hotel, which will be fun... not so fun is that it's first thing in the morning but c'est la vie! We'll maybe get our breakie out there...

On to my card... ah it's not a card today!! So today it is a wallet type thing lol! Have you ever found that you stamp up lots of images ready to use and then you can't find the images and they get ruined because they work their way to the bottom of drawers. Well this is for you! My inspiration for this came from the LOTV Blog inspiration page where I came across Nyna's blog, where she had made something similar. So I thought I'd give it a bash....

This is the outside part, this will open out to reveal your stamped images inside. My stamp on the front is Lili of the Valley and she's coloured with copics.
Here is the inside of the wallet, holding my ready stamped images. Good to go for colouring and adding to a card. I figure you could also use this as a way to hold gift vouchers or money for a gift for someone.
I created a little bit to write on, I think I will write my stamps or something here! I can't decide yet. So I hope you guys like! It was something a bit different and it means all my stamps are held in one place. My papers are papermania, as is the card and I used copics and stickles on my images.

Take care guys and please feel free to have a go at making this wallet.

LOTV Little Cutie!

Hello Everyone!

Phew I'm late tonight! Do you ever find that you get so wrapped up in something that you forget about everything else and time just runs away from you... that's what making cards does for me. One minute I've loads of time, the next I should be in my bed! he he! I got over my migraine last week and ended up with another yesterday :o( I got it in time with my drugs! I think I've found my trigger... I think it's the coffee that my colleagues make! We use a cafetiere with ground coffee. I watched them putting the coffee in - well it's WAY too much for me! I think I'll stick to making my own in future and see how I go.

On to tonight's card...

I used my brand spanking new LOTV stamps which arrived today. They are so frigging cute it's crazy! I am also entering this one into two challenges... I used the Colour Create Challenge of Lemon, Green & White and the Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout, their added extra was charms and I had the perfect charm for this card... but do you think I can find it! pft! no!

My little cutie is also as always coloured with copics, I added some coloured sparkle to her skirt and the cakes. The ribbon was free in a pack from a magazine, my backing paper is Daisy & Dandelion and I used my martha stewart punch for the doily lace effect. The little sparkly gems are papermania.

I hope you guys like tonight's card, I think she is adorable! Take care everyone and thanks for visiting me! Lyns xx

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Oh dear... I've been ill.... AGAIN! We had a bad night here with the horrendous weather, the wind has been unbelievable. All night long howling past the window and through the chimney. It's really frustrating cos there's just nothing we can do about it. So the wind keeping me awake led to a really rubbish sleep along with waking up at 5am with a horrific migraine :o( Normally I'd take my tablets and spend my day as a zombie, but they did NOT want to work today. I pretty much cried from 5am to 7am. OH was very kind trying to calm me and rubbing my head. I wanted to go to the spare room, but he wanted to keep an eye on me. I don't blame him, I'm like a loon with a migraine.

OH brought me some drugs home on his way back from work, so I'm now in my zombie induced state.... if any of this post makes NO sense, then you know why! lol

On to my card...
These fabby stamps are from Forever Friends, I think they would be great to use for all sorts of occasions not just Valentines. I coloured the bears with copics and added stickles here and there, I made the flowers myself using tissue paper and the nesties (Rachel from Critchley Creations did a great Tut on this) these are held in place with black brads and have some stickles to give a little texture. The papers are FF love ones and the ribbon and gem were from some wedding invitations a friend had.... I recycled them! :o)

Well I hope you like this card and hopefully so will OH, I'm sitting away from him as a type so he can't creep on what I've done! lol

Take care everyone, thanks for visiting and listening to me whinge!

Wedding Bears

Hi Everyone!

My word the weather here has been BONKERS!! This morning OH and I left for work in a blizzard! It was that big fat wet snow too which got us nice and soggy on the way to the bus stop. Thankfully it didn't lie... but now we are being hammered with some really hard winds, I was almost blown off my feet leaving work tonight. It's so loud my poor cat keeps looking at the windows as though he's wondering what the noise is. I hope it dies down tonight.

Well on to my card...

One of my friends is getting married soon, he's marrying a lovely girl who is quite possibly one of the nicest people I've ever met. Do you know the kind of person who's incredibly kind and sweet, well his wife to be is just that. I wanted to give them a card that reflects her soft kind nature, so this is what I came up with. The paper actually says just married on it, the bears stamp is Penny Johnson, I used my bug dots folder for the embossing and my Martha Stewart Punch on the pink card. I have added tonnes of stickles to the butterflies to make them sparkle.

I hope they both like the card and I hope you do too! Thanks for visiting everyone, take care, Lyns xx

Birthday Bash Fun!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all doing good and had a good weekend! I had a great weekend, it was my birthday on Saturday and I was spoiled. I had a lovely day, OH treated me like a princess. We had some friends over in the evening and had a great time, singing and dancing... not to mention a few wee drinks or seven! lol

I have taken a pic of some of my fabby pressies below! I had already received my pressie from him which was my fabby pink laptop which I am using to speak to you all. It is the Pink rectangle with the swirls on it! My mum gave me the pink sparkly trainers (sparkle not so evident in the picture), OH also gave me the rugby ticket and champagne (pink naturally), one little sis gave me the shoes, another gave me the awesome blinged up wine glass and jelly belly candle, my youngest sis gave me the necklace, Mum also gave me the Glow Biz tan kit, and my amazing friend Sarah gave me the wacky purse and photo frame...

I was sooooo lucky, I got money from family too... which I am going to be buying some crafty things with! he he he!

Now on to my card!
This cute little dragon is from the Wild Rose Studio which you can get from the Glitter Pot I used my bug for the spotty embossing, martha stewart doily lace punch and the x-cut butterfly punch, I coloured little cutie with my copics, as well as the ribbon, I used stickles glitter on the flowers and butterfly.
Here is a close up of my image. Speaking of copics, did you guys know that a new set of Copic Ciaos were released on Monday... wooo hoo! I can't wait to get my hands on them... I think I know what that birthday money is getting spent on! he he!

Well I hope you liked my card and my wee pressies! I am off to watch the rest of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, so far this week's episode is more about the girls rather than the 'big' wedding. It's an interesting programme I have to say. If you guys can catch it, it makes interesting viewing - Channel 4 & 4HD every Tuesday at 9pm!

Take care everyone and as always thanks for visiting me! Lyns xx
