Sad times...

Hi Everyone,

This is just a quick post to say thank you for all the lovely comments on my recent cards, I have been extremely lucky and won the last LOTV Thursday Challenge - I got my prize which was a pack from Ribbon Girl and is absolutely fantastic - it looks amazing and I can't wait to make card up with it to share with you all.

I have been a bit radio silent at the moment as Hubster's Nan (mum's side) passed away at the end of last year; and now unfortunately his Grandpa (dad's side) is very very unwell and currently in hospital.  He is 93, suffering from gallstones but whilst looking for these they found a very large mass that they suspect is cancer.  The scans required to determine what is actually causing his illness would be too much for him.  The family decided knowing what Grandpa's wishes were from past conversations, to keep him as comfortable as possible. He does not have long left and this is an extremely sad time for my Husband, his family and myself.  We hope for Grandpa's sake that he is not distressed for long.

For now I will be probably pretty quiet but I will pop by every now and then.

Thanks for visiting, sorry that this post is not the most happy. Take Care Everyone, Lyns xx

I'm just not sure...

Hey There Everyone!

How are you all doing today?  Tuesday, pfffft! Nothing good ever happens on a Tuesday... Apart from having to go to work, it's all just a bit dull.  Hubster went to the gym last night whilst I battered it out in the pool and I swear someone doesn't want me to own pairs of earrings but lots of just one on their own.  I lost a white gold earring when I was out to lunch last week and last night when I took my goggles off my stud earring pinged off into the land of lost things. It's very frustrating!  Anyhoo Hubster and I are trying to keep up the fitness bit, I'm not the best at it, he's far more dedicated than I but I am trying!

Now on to my card, so it's one that I'm just not sure about... trying to be a bit more CAS but I think it's just come off rubbish, I'm just not happy with it.  I'm not too bothered about my colouring, it's clearly not my best effort but it's not terrible.  Hmmm... I may add something to this card at a later date.

The papers are Hot Diggity Dog, the coloured cardstock is Papermania, Gems from Stash, stamp from LOTV and I used my tri-emboss folder by Papermania too.  As always the stamp is coloured with Copics, here is a close up:

Any advice on how I could improve this card is greatly appreciated! Thanks for visiting guys and Take Care, Lyns xx

Pink and Blue Challenge

Hey Everyone! How are you all doing this FAAAREEEEZIN' Sunday afternoon?! I have busted my butt at the gym today, I'm feeling pretty fried now, but hey it's like 45 mins a day, hopefully work off the Christmas poundage! It's been a nice chilled weekend, got to make up a few crafty projects.  Hubster and I also went to see War Horse at the flicks, lovely film so nice.

Now on to today's project which is another CHALLENGE - check me out! That's what 4 or 5 this week! Pheeeew! This challenge is The Ribbon Girl Blog Challenge, this challenge is a blue and pink colour challenge.  So I had this image coloured up already and thought it was going to be lovely with the blue and pink scheme.

My cute little stamp here is Positively Pampered by LOTV... do I even use any different stamps these days?! he he... she is coloured with copic ciaos and stickles added to the wings and powder puff. The pink paper is Hot Diggity Dog, The pale writing paper is Magnolia, the coloured card stock is Papermania and I used my Martha Stewart Punch for the edge bits, the metal embellishments and lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Here is a close up of my colouring - hope you guys like the funky wings!

She's so cute isn't she! I thought the glitter and lots of colours were great for her... Love her! Here is a shot of the inside...

Wee glittery are from my stash!

Well guys I'm going to get on with some more colouring... hope you all have a great weekend and like the project I've uploaded.

Off for a a look round blogland - as always thanks for visiting and take care! Lyns xx

Some more challenges!

Hey Guys! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend so far! Goes too quickly doesn't it!

This card was for two challenges, Crafty Catz Challenge which is to use something new... well that was an easy one, because the stamp was new, the lace was new, the copics were new! lol This is also for Carla's challenge over on the do crafts forum.  She has come up with a great recipe:

use gingham/or any other backing paper if you don't have any gingham.
punch/nesties etc
ribbon/lace/bakers twine your choice
3 embelishments of your choice
and your favourite lotv image...

A great challenge for sure!

I used paper that was part of a DCWV pack... well I think it was! Mounted on to Papermania Coloured cardstock, pearls from stash, Lace and Doily from Wild Orchid Crafts, I used my Martha Stewart Punch for the scalloped edge and covered the edging of the image with stickles... hope I covered all of the requests!

Here's a wee up close of the image:

And for once I remembered to take an inside shot:

Hope you guys like! Take care everyone and have a great weekend, thanks for visiting! Lyns xx

Challenges, challenges...

Hey There Everyone!  Woo-hoo it's FRIDAY! Yippeeeeeeeee...

I am looking forward to this weekend, I have very very little planned and I am going to (hopefully) relish in playing with my crafty things. It has been so long since I got to just sit and dabble for a day.  Hubster will be out golfing tomorrow for most of the day so I am going to enjoy the PEACE AND QUIET!!!

Today's card is one I sat and made up last night, I had a peak at a couple of challenges and this was the fall out...

I am entering this into Lili's Little Fairies Thursday Challenge, which is use your favourite stamp, now this was hard cos I lurve them all equally! I couldn't possibly have a favourite - as if this was even possible! But I do lean toward this little guy called Abracadabra - he is sooo cute.  Although I always find that maybe I'm not colouring him very well... I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but I really struggle when my image is going to be heavy on black ink.  Any tips guys please share!

I am also entering this card into the Here Come The Boys sketch challenge.  The sketch is bellow! The only thing I have left off is a sentiment as I chose a stamp which ended up more square than rectangle... D'OH! anyhooo... I hope you like!

Goodies used were...
  • Copics Ciao Markers for colouring
  • Stickles for Sparkling
  • Magnolia Stars and the faint writing paper is also Magnolia
  • Papermania Coloured Card stock
  • The Metal Embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts I 'dirtied' them up with a black copic.
  • Papermania Tri-Emboss Folder for the bossin'
  • Gems are Papermania
  • Ribbon, left over straggle found in stash!

Take Care Guys and as always thanks for visiting me!  Have a great weekend! Lyns xx
Happy Wednesday Everyone and a Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, even if you don't particularly celebrate, I hope you got a chance to relax a bit.  We had a great Christmas, very busy, lots of food and some lovely gifts, Hubster and I really count ourselves extremely lucky - It was great to chill out and sleep late a bit! Lazy bones!

The only bad end to last year was the death of Hubster's Gran, she became unwell before Christmas and went downhill rapidly. We are glad she wasn't in a lot of pain.

Now on a happier note, I got some new crafty goodies for Christmas, a goody bag, a day light lamp, some LOTV stamps and another set of copic ciao markers.... wee hee! Last night I finally managed to sit and have a play with some of my goodies.  I played with the Hot Diggity Dog decoupage sheets and papers.

I used my Magnolia Doohicky die to cut the edging and a couple of gems in the corners.  I try to keep things simple when I've not crafted for a bit... I have found the bug again, so I must get entering a few challenges :o)

Well back to work, I hope you are all great and looking forward to the year ahead.

Take Care, thanks for visiting me! Lyns xx
