WOYWW 251 & Something a little bit different

Heya  Guys,

It's another WOYWW if you'd like to find out what we are all up to, please visit our wonderful host Julia who explains everything...

My desk doesn't show a great deal of promise at the moment, I have been attempting this little project several times, but every time I sit down to it I wind up almost falling asleep at my desk.  I've not been great with the projects in general over the last couple of days, I've got so much on - my mind is a bit boggled! If you would like to see how my project from last Wednesday wound up, please take a look here.

This week I am sharing this little candle holder I made, well I didn't make it... Nescafe Azera Coffee made it, but I decorated the outside to make it prettier!

A wee shot of my candle inside... I just stuck the papers down to the outside using extremely strong glue and then put my lace and adhesive pearl hearts over the top.  I tied a shoelace around the papers and left them over night so that the papers didn't lift at the back where they joined.

A side by side of how the candle holder started it's life out... that coffee tin can look forward to becoming a candle holder in the near future... watch this space!

Thanks for stopping by - I'm off for a wee creep on everyone's WOYWW.

Friday Fizzy Moon

Happy Friday!! Let's all have a Crunchie to embrace that Friday-feeling.

Who is ready for the weekend?! I know I am - now it's not like I have tonnes planned, but I do next weekend, so for this weekend I will enjoy the quiet.

If you passed by my blog on Wednesday, you might have seen a little sneak peak of this project on my WOYWW Post.   I was thinking about a card for Mam for Mother's Day, yep, I wasna getting anywhere! It's really annoying that her birthday and Granny's birthday are so fecking close to Mother's day.  Granny had her on her 20th birthday, I imagine it was more inconvenient for her right enough...

I got these chipboard tags at the Craft Show and I kind of got the idea and rolled with it... the papers and sentiments are from LOTV.  Ribbon is from my stash (could be literally from anywhere), lace is ribbon girl, gems are eh... eh.... more from my stash!

I'd love to know what you guys think, I have decorated the back of the tag in paper too!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Lyns xx

A Little Fizzy Moon & WOYWW 250

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

Midway through the week, woohoo! It's terrible wishing my life away.  I cannot wait to get a holiday, it's not long till I'm off for some sunshine, which is much needed :o)

My card, is another one of the wiggly shaped ones I bought at the craft show, I stuck some BoBunny paper down to the front then cut around it so that it matched the shape of the card, another bit stuck to some dark grey paper at a jaunty angle.  Fizzy Moon Chipboard is stuck to a Nesty circle which is mounted on a Scalloped Nesty, the star was cut on my bug, the sentiment is by LOTV.  Bits and other pieces are from my stash which are from the Ribbon Girl and places I can't remember.

As it is Wednesday, for WOYWW 250 I thought I'd give you a peak of my Work-desk...

There is a little sneak peak in there of the project I'm currently working on, which I will share later in the week.  I don't think my area is too disorganised.  I like to listen to music on my Mac whilst I work, I am currently listening to Fugees - A Change is Gonna Come... great wee tune.

Hope you are all well, take care, Lyns xx

Hope everyone is having a good day - for a Monday anyway! How was everyone's weekend?  Mine was pretty good, I got my craft on - not just the papercrafting kind either.

Today I am sharing my homemade tablet.  I got the large container from work - our stationery people give us sweets regularly, weird if you ask me and this tub had flumps (marshmallows) in it, when it was finished, I thought the container would be perfect for storing tablet.  I added the ribbon and bow. The little bags of tablet are for me to give to people as little gifts.  The bags are Sweetly Does It Stripe Bags which I bought from Create and Craft.

A little close up of the bags - cute huh?

And here is a close up of the tablet and ribbon.  Now some of you might wonder what Tablet  is... you will gasp when I tell you the ingredients, lets just say it is NOT PART OF A CALORIE CONTROLLED DIET!

1kg of sugar, 100g of butter, 1 tin condensed milk, 1 cup of milk for dampening and a tsp of vanilla essence... 100% bad for you!

I thought I'd share this lovely picture of Molly in the late afternoon sun we had yesterday - she loves her ball.

Take care everyone, if anyone is interested in the recipe I can share it with you.

LOTV Challenge Card - Mum's Birthday :o)

Happy for the weekend - this has been a long week.  On positive notes though; my flights are now booked to go to Melbourne at Christmas for a friend's wedding! Woop, will be having a wee stop in Hong Kong on the way home, how exciting!

I was up late working on this card, my mojo seemed to have gone on holiday and then at about 8pm last night it smacked me right in the face and I had to get this card done for my Mum's birthday today, I was toying with giving her one I'd already made and then suddenly this came to me.  I followed the LOTV Challenge for Inspiration which is Crafty Bingo, I went for Diagonally up from the bottom left to the top right, which is Doily, Lace and Flowers.  I have a heart shaped doily, some Lace here and there and flowery papers.

So for my second entry I have coloured up the LOTV stamp with copics and added some Frantage round the edges; used LOTV Heartfelt Papers and some Kraft Card.  I used my la-la-land banner die, my doohickey tag die, LOTV sentiment tags. I can't remember where my doily is from, the cheese cloth and lace is from the Ribbon Girl and the Ribbon and Gems are from docrafts -Phew! This is a card heavy on 'stuff' which isn't like me, but I'm quite pleased with the results.  Just hope Mam likes it.

I have decorated the inside simply to match and to give the back a little bit of weight.

Hope you guys like it.

Take care & have a great weekend!

SECC Craft Show & LOTV Challenge

It's Monday again - boooo.... but at least I had a great weekend.  I went to the ICHF Craft Show at the SECC in Glasgow with my Mum.  I was organised, I got up early sorted myself and collected Mum at 8.30 on Saturday morning, I drove through and we got there for just after opening and even then it was busy.  Mum isn't a card maker or crafter in the sense that I am but she is very creative.  We were there for approximately 2 mins before she started oo-ing and ahh-ing at the goodies.

Here's a little pic of my new stash, I had a good look through what I had already had before I went and decided what I was going to get.  I desperately needed a new cutting board so I picked up a 13"x13" glass board - my old mat was done but it's taking me a bit to get used to cutting on glass.

I  also had a great raid at the Every Craft is a £1 Stall, which is great for topping up your stash. I stopped by the LOTV stand too where I picked up another Coloured Art Pad, Sentiment Tag Stamps and James Bear on his Laptop.

Mum was in awe of the glitter, she bought a set and went mad about glittering glasses when we got home.

My photos aren't great - sorry about that... I'm rubbish!  I love this purple glitter, it's predominantly purple with a little bit of silver, turquoise and pink mixed in! It's lurvely!

I'm struggling with my mojo at the moment and feel like I can't stamp at the moment, every time I stamp it just comes out crap.  I must have attempted stamping a LOTV geisha girl stamp about 6 or 7 times and messed every one up!  I gave up in the end.  I decided to use a page of my new Art Pad to make a birthday card for my Gran.

I am entering this into the LOTV Monthly Challenge which is Crafty Bingo.  I went for the vertical middle line of Pearls, Lace and Gems.

Pearls added to my image, lace over the blue gingham check and gems in the corner.

Here's a little close up of the glitter! Can never have too much glitter! :o)

I hope you like guys... not my best work, hope I find Mr Mojo soon!

Three Simpe Rules...

Heya Everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was a little bit merry and as always I eat too much!

Today's card is a nice simple one using the Beach Bliss Paper Pack from LOTV and I have stamped straight onto the paper. I love this stamp they are great rules for life and I ended up giving this card to my Dad.

Hope you all had great weekends!

Take Care, Lyns xx
