LOTV Male Birthday Card

Hey Guys,

I've got birthday cards on the brain at the moment... it's 19 November and I've made maybe 6 Christmas cards. I really need to get my act together.

Meantime, ANOTHER birthday card.  This is for someone who is a football fan - can you tell? I'm not great with knowing the strips, so I think the colour of the shirt is pretty close.

The stamp is an LOTV coloured with copics, papers are a mix of Christmas Papers and Men papers from Papermania, as is the ribbon and the buttons.  The rosette is part of the Mens papers decoupage pack. I used the liquid pearls stuff from dove craft to make the little dots - now that was a first, so I'll need some more practice, cos they came out like little spikes! oops!

Well hope you like today's card guys, thanks for stopping by.  Lyns xx

What's on your workdesk Wednesday 337 - Birthday Box Card

Hey Fellow Desk Creeps!

Hope you are all well today, it might look like there's not very much happening apart from mess in my desk shot.  Behind on the bed, representing much the same look...

I like to spread out when I'm working! I took these photos whilst searching high and low for a stamp - I did find it in the end too.

This is the stamp in question, it is by Scruffy Little Cat, from Crafter's Companion and unfortunately I don't think you can buy it any more.  I'm a little bit obsessed with box-cards at the moment, I swear my next card won't be a box!

She's coloured with copics, with a little bit of stickles for sparkle.  The papers and gems are papermania forever friends paper, the sentiment is one of the Scruffy Little Cat ones.  Stars are made from a die I bought at the Everything is a Pound stall. Sticking those stars to the wire - HARD!!!

I hope you are all having a good Wednesday, I've been told it's only 5 weeks now till I'm off on holiday for the fortnight - quite looking forward to laying in!

If you'd like more information about why I am a desk-creep please check out Julia's brilliant blog here

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 336 & New Home Card

Time for another WOYWW - to find out what I am talking about, please visit our fabulous host Julia for all the information you need.  AI was nearing the end of this project when I photographed my desk.  I've been quite busy crafting, not as much as I would like and I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to Christmas Cards, but I WILL get organised.... somehow! I think I'll make some this weekend.

Today's card is for my little sister who moved into a new place, I still have another one of these to make, as two sisters decided to flit at the same time.

I love these LOTV papers, might actually be a bit addicted to them.  The papers are LOTV and the image is an LOTV topper.  it was pretty quick to make.  They are such pretty images.  I will put a new home sentiment on the card on the top left - WHEN I FIND THE STAMP! I have raided through and cannot find it anywhere.  I think I really need to get my stamps organised... eurgh :(

Ribbon, Butterfly and cheese cloth is all from the Ribbon Girl.  Gems are from my stash, I think I bought them in Hobbycraft though.

Hope you guys have enjoyed a peak at my desk today, I'm off for a peak at yours :o)

Birthday Box Card - Scruffy Little Cat

Good Morning Bloggers,

I hope you are all well, unlike me, I'm sick! waaaaah... I have the cold, but it's a terrible cough, really sound like I'm trying to cough my lungs out me, sniff sniff...

Anyway, I will not wallow... today's card is another box card - I am feeling very inspired by these cards at the moment. I bought some packs of pre-cut ones, whilst I could make the base myself, basically I'm lazy, so I don't.  :o)  This card is for my sister's birthday, I used the Scruffy Little Cat Stamp.  She is coloured with copics and a little bit of stickles glitter glue added to her eyelids.  She started out life as a blonde, until I got a bit heavy handed with the brown marker... ah well!

The papers I used to decorate the box are Magnolia (stars) and Papermania (stripes).  Gems are coloured with copics and from my stash.  The sentiment stamps are from various Scruffy Little Cat Sets.

It was a bold move to stamp directly on to the patterned paper but I think it's worked reasonably well.

I got really into the zone making this card, so much so I was very late to bed - oops! I think it was worth it though and hopefully my sister likes it too.

A close-up of my colouring.  Still practising - don't look too closely at the dress! he he...

I hope you guys like this and thanks for stopping by! Lyns xx

Halloween Box Card LOTV

Heya Guys,

Hope you are all well.  As promised, today's 'card' is one made using some of the goodies I picked up at the Craft Show.  A bit of a theme you might notice is halloween, I have all these little cool halloween bits but I never normally end up doing anything, but I was determined to make this.  An idea which fell out my own head, no inspiration was taken from anywhere... A first!

I have to confess that I didn't make the box card, I bought them in a pack, it is just so much more work doing all that cutting, I'd be going nuts trying to make it all correctly, this was so simple using the pre-cut one and it comes with envelopes to fit.  This card actually folds flat so you can mail it to people.

Getting down to the nitty gritty, the image is by LOTV, coloured with copics and added a little bit of black glitter to the bats and the inner eyes and mouth of the pumpkin.  The bats I free-hand cut and then dunked in glitter mounted onto bits of wire to make them appear as though they are flying out of the box. The pumpkin dies are by Spellbinders, they are great - I think they'd also look great on their own popping out of a box - that could be a project for later.  I also used a spellbinders nestie for cutting the image using the 'out the box' approach for the leaf and the stalk of the pumpkin.  The cheese cloth is just cut roughly and pulled a bit to make it look creepy and glued to the back.  The gems were clear and I coloured them black with copics and are the reason I have black marks on my fingers and thumb. The papers are Gorjuss Girls Docrafts ones.  I think that's all there is to say now about that!

A close up of my image colouring - the hair looks more textured in person, it just doesn't seem to be showing up in the photo.

This is the most intensive card I have made for a while, but I enjoyed every bit of it.  I love these box cards, using the pre-cut cards just made it easier for me.  What can I say - I'm lazy!

I hope you guys liked this and thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

WOYWW 334 - Craft Show Haul

Happy Hump Day All,

How you guys doing, I've been a busy little bee... today's photo is of my desk, but really me just showing off what I bought at the Craft Fair in Glasgow last weekend.  It was brilliant - I love the show.  My sister came with me - her first time, I had to have the same discussion I had with my mum when she first came i.e. Don't spend all your money in the first stand!

As you can see from my photo I got quite a few bits and pieces, every craft is a pound is a brilliant stand for stamps - I also got those star dies there too! Great value for money, 3 star dies for £1.  Actually, because they do 12 items for £10 it's even cheaper than £1.

The small bottle with the white cap is Christmas Scent in a bottle - it's beautiful! I love the smell so much! I've been dabbing it everywhere, yeah I know it's only October!

I hope you enjoyed stopping by my desk, if you'd like to know more about Desk-Stalkers Anonymous, you can check out Julia's blog for all the information.  I must warn you all now, I'll be slow getting round the blogs this week as I'm on a course for work, I had homework so I'm not getting on to my computer too much, but I will catch up - I promise.

Tomorrow's share will be a project I have created from the purchased goodies!

Take care and thanks for visiting me.  Lyns xx

LOTV CAS Christmas Card

Hey Guys,

Today's card is a CAS Christmas card made using an LOTV stamp.  I'm trying to speed up the Card Making process for Christmas - still it's not working... oops!

Stamped the image onto some Kraft card and then coloured with copics, I used a white gel pen on the blobs and a little bit of stickles on the wings.  The buttons were free with my docrafts magazine and that as they say - is that!

Very plain, but I hope effective.  Here's a close-up of my colouring.

The hair is not great! and I feel I could do with more depth, I will continue to work at it. Thanks for stopping by everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.

Sarah's Beautiful Birthday :o)

Hey There Everyone,

Today's a special day it is my beautiful friend Sarah's birthday.  Sarah is amazing, she'll do anything to help someone.  She is one of the kindest people I've ever met and she's truly one of a kind.  I am so lucky to have her in my life and especially lucky that she's my best friend.  I don't know what I would do without her.

Sarah is not known for being a girly girl, she's not into pink and glitter and sparkles, but she oozes class.  I chose this stamp by Scruffy Little Cat - she was a limited edition I bought from Create and Craft, I have no idea if you can actually buy her alone now.  I think she looks classy, she's all about having some time to herself and a bit of pampering and of course a glass of bubbly! THIS IS WHAT SARAH NEEDS TO DO!! Is have some 'ME' time! :D if you are reading this Sarah, I hope that's loud and clear :o)

I also used the opportunity to get more copic practice in - she's supposed to be more blonde than she is! I was a bit heavy handed and mixed up my colours - woops! I wanted her to be more blonde like Sarah, but what you gonna do! She's sort of a bronde instead :D

Still getting there very slowly with the colouring, I will keep at it though.

The paper is from a very old set and I'm so sorry I can't remember what it is now.  I'd hazard a guess it's Bo Bunny.  The sentiment came with another SLC stamp.  The lace, gems and ribbon are from my stash and the little charms are off a necklace I didn't wear anymore - up-cycling at it's best :o)

I hope you guys like this card and to Sarah, a very happy birthday!

Thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

WOYWW 331 - Card in Progress

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my desk for this WOYWW 331 - if you'd like to know what we are doing, please stop by Julia's blog for all our desk-creeping stories :o)

I've been in colour mode, just now, working last night on this image for a friend's birthday card and using the opportunity to practice with my copics. Her hair was meant to be more blonde than mouse brown - woops!
I wanted to stay away from girly girly colours as my friend's not a girly girl like that.  I will be making the card up using predominantly black and a pale grey - we'll see what comes out of it! The stamp is by Scruffy Little Cat, coloured with copics and there's a little bit of stickles on there too.

I'm off to peak around your desks now! Thanks for visiting mine! Lyns xx

LOTV Simple Card

Hey Everyone,

Hope you are all well?  If you stopped by yesterday, I hope you enjoyed my craft area tour.  Please share a link with me if you make a video of your craft area so I can have a peek.

This is the card I was working on in my desk photo, well the image was at least.  Still practising my colouring and techniques with the Copic Ciaos; this is an LOTV image that I've done my best to capture some shadow and texture on the animals.

I wanted to keep the card pretty low-key and simple, which is why there's no ribbons or any other fancy bits.  I may add a sentiment at a later date, but again it will be kept very simple.

Here is a close-up of my colouring.  I hope it's not too bad, I'm trying to get better at shadow mapping.   As I mentioned, the colouring was with Copic Markers, there's a little bit of Stickles Glitter Glue there too, some craft card and the LOTV Paper Pad for the backing papers.

This morning when I took the dog out, there was a real clingy mist hanging on to the park where I walk her, I took this photograph, I thought it looked really spooky but cool at the same time.

Molly is wearing her light-up collar all the time now, it's fantastic, you can find her easily in the dark.

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  Lyns x

WOYW Wednesday 330 & Craft Area Tour

Hey-hey Everyone,

Happy Hump-day :o) So here's my desk for WOYWW - if you'd like to know what I'm talking about, please stop over at Julia's magnificent blog which is our on-line desk stalkers group.  Last week I shared that I had gone through a big de-clutter of my home and bought myself a new craft desk and got my spare bedroom into a semblance of order. A trip to Ikea, a late night and a few curses later... I am done.

This video is a tour of my crafting area, honestly it will not always be this tidy, but because I'm super-proud of myself at the moment, I've been making sure to keep it neat... Give it a few weeks and it will be a bomb-site I'm sure!

I know my craft area isn't as spectacular as many that you see, but it's very special to me.  It took me a lot of work and focus to get it looking like this, but still have it practical as a functioning bedroom too.
Molly seems to have laid claim to the desk being her dog house, I have no idea why she's camped out under here, whilst I was working, I brought her bed through with me so she didn't have to lie on the floor.  She's some dog!

Thanks everyone for stopping by, I hope you have a great day and I'm off to peak around your desks now too.  Lyns xx

All That Glitters is Snow

Hey There Everyone,

How you doing on this chilly but sunny Monday?  It was a little bit brrrrr... when I walked Molly this morning.

You might have seen last week that I bought and built myself a new craft desk/area.  I'm so pleased with it, I really feel like it has given me mojo back.  It's just better having everything in one place.  To make the most of my re-found mojo, I sat down to make this little card. I coloured up my LOTV image 'Cuddling Ted' using my copics.  I went nuts with some stickles glitter glue.

Once that was all dry, I made up my card.  The papers were left over from a previous Christmas card I made and the colours all fitted well together.  I added some frantage to my image to give it more of a snowing look.  Am I the only one who finds frantage really messy??

The papers are from papermania, the sentiment and stamp are both from LOTV.  I used a spellbinders die for the waved craft card. I distressed the edge of the red layered card using the edge of my craft knife. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Here's a little close up of the image.  I am still working on my colouring.  I had 2 attempts before I got to this, I just kept making a complete boob of it!

Practice makes perfect I guess :o) I will see you all on Wednesday for a special WOYWW.

Thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

A New Craft Area/Desk

Happy Friday Everyone,

I am so excited to share this picture with you guys.  I had a total de-clutter of my home, it has been a great thing to do.  I cleared all my craft things into the wardrobe in my spare room, it's so much better being hidden behind a door, gives it a much tidier look. I went to Ikea last night with my sister and bought this desk with drawer and shelf space at the side, The top shelves came separately, but I wanted space to put bits and pieces.  The lights at the top behind the computer were £11 strip lighting, I used Blue Tack to stick it to the back underside - they do come with attachments, but I didn't want to fix them permanently.

It is great having a space to go now to work, instead of taking everything out and then putting everything away.

The de-clutter is going to be an ongoing project, the other side of this wardrobe holds clothes that I rarely wear, occasion dresses and such like, I plan on having a good cull of these too.  I bought a new mattress for the spare bed, which was rolled/vacuum packed.  Once it is done settling I will finish everything up properly and hopefully do a little video tour of the room for you all.

It might sound silly but I'm so proud of myself for building the desk myself, it took a while but it was worth it.

Thanks for stopping by guys, take care, Lyns x

Happy Hump-Day Everyone,

This really is What's on my Work Desk Monday Night... but I am at least sharing the photo.  I knew I'd never have time to take photos again as I've got quite the busy week ahead.

(If you'd like to see what we are all doing and going on about, please check Julia's terrific Blog here).

As you can see the desk is still relatively under control, I brought little bits back out to play and decided to just craft a little.  I've got it all tidied up again now, but that was a fine step, I had a little craft then it was all easy to tidy up and I don't feel like it's taking over my living room.

I really wish I had a craft area, my dear friend has a terrific solution to craft space problems, she has a study bed.  It's basically a bed which converts into a desk and vice-versa.  I am going to save up for one of these, it will make such better use of my spare room, which is basically a bedroom/dumping room/clothes drying area.

Well I hope you are all well, will pop by to see you all soon.

Fizzy Moon - Snow Much Fun!

Morning Guys,

Two posts in a row, check me out!  This is a fizzy moon stamp, it's one of my favourite Christmas ones.  Fizzy Moon and his little buddy have been coloured using Spectrum Noir Pencils, I used my white gel liner to get the hats and bobble white.

The glitter is snow glitter, I think it's spica? I could be talking rubbish though, I've had it for so long.

The backing paper is a papermania set, I kinda wish it wasn't shiny, but it is so hey ho!  The Sentiment Stamp is by LOTV.  Red Pearls are papermania.

I distressed the edges of the red card by using the blade of my craft knife.  I'm going to make a batch of Christmas Cards that are quite samey so that I can have them ready to send out and probably make special ones for the family. I'll see how I get on though - small goals!

I used the white gel pen in circular motions to try and get it looking like a fluffy texture, but I'm not sure I've succeeded... perhaps I just need to buy a new pen.

I hope you guys like, thanks for stopping by my blog.  Take Care, Lyns x

Christmas LOTV Colouring - Spectrum Noir Pencils

Hey Everyone,

How goes you?  I'm doing alright, which is better than bad - small victories and all that.  I decided to sit down and make a card up.  I had coloured this same image with my copics last week but I decided that it would be nice to use this one I had coloured using Pencils.  I had done it ages and ages ago.  I bought some spectrum noir pencils a while ago and this is one of my trial images.  I think it looks not bad.

My colouring still needs some work but I think I'm getting there.  I used a layout for this card which I've used many times, what can I say - I love a jaunty angle!

Here is a little close-up of said colouring - I do like the pencils for a bit of something different, they are not quite as harsh as the pens if that makes any sense.  I feel they are a little bit softer in their all round feel.

All the papers, ribbon and gems are papermania.  The craft card is from crafter's companion as are the Spectrum Noir pencils. The stamp is from LOTV.

Slowly but surely this Christmas cards will be made!

Take Care Guys, thanks for stopping by! Lyns x

WOYWW 327 - Bit of Colouring

Happy WOYWW Everyone,

I've been rubbish, I know I have... look at my desk! There's hardly anything on it! The reason for that I have been colouring some images.  I was meant to take my Copics on holiday with me, but they weigh 2KG and I didn't have 2KG spare to take them :o(  I have had a few rocky months, I'm currently suffering with depression which sucks but it's a day at a time process and I will get there... So I have cleared the crafty stuff to give me a bit of space to breathe, I'm still colouring and will still make up some cards, just a bit more slowly I think.

Here's my image that I was working on.... Time to get the Christmas Hats on!

I have also been trying to get my backside out and about doing things; I've been walking Molly loads, I managed to get some brilliant photos of her at the beach recently.

This photo is my Blog Banner, desktop wallpaper on my computer, phone and iPad - I love it.

If I could bottle Molly's happiness and enthusiasm I'd be super-rich! :D

Thanks for stopping by my desk, I will pop round yours all soon.
