Minnie Mouse Birthday Fun!

Morning Bloggers,

How you doing?  I'm happy it's a sunshiney day in Edinburgh today! We are expecting a heatwave - which means that there's going to be lots of pale Scottish People turned pink tomorrow. I absolutely love the sun, but I HATE getting burnt, so I'll stick to the tan out a bottle for the most part.

Last night I was super productive, I don't know how I managed it but I did loads of things...
Shopping on my way home from work.
Walked the Dog
Did a Load of Washing
Made my Dinner
Hung up Load of Washing
Made a batch of Granola bars
Went to a Dance Class
Came home and rustled up this wee card...

I'm supposed to be making a wedding card - but the mojo is just not in a weddingy place! Why o why! So here's Minnie Mouse instead.  I bought the papers and topper at The Range.  Great for just whipping up a card quickish.  I die-cut the circle/scalloped circle on my ebosser and embossed the Navy Card with a Happy Birthday embossing folder. The blue gems have been in my stash since 19-Oatcake... I think they are papermania ones.  The Ribbon is also from my stash.

I used this paper sheet to decorate the inside of the card, mounting it firstly on blue card, stuck some more of those gems in there too! I like to decorate the inside when there's quite a weight on the front of a card, especially ones with Gems/Ribbons/Toppers... it helps the card stay upright on a mantle.

Hope you guys like this Minnie; I will hopefully be uploading a wedding themed card soon.

Scruffy Little Cat - Practice Colour Card

Hey Guys,

I can't believe but I actually forgot to upload this card - I had uploaded it to my docrafts gallery saying 'check all the info on my blog' well you could if I uploaded it - divvy!

I had been playing with my Copics still practising my skin and hair techniques.  I like to colour hair the same colour as my own, cos you know, I'm doing it for the redheads... Anyway, I wanted to keep this card mainly about the image.  The embossing folder came with my ebosser. such an elegant pattern, although I wish I'd not used purple card, but dark pink instead... ah well! Ribbon and gems are just from my stash!

Another Scruffy Little Cat stamp just for a change - here is an up close of the image.  Yeah I know, I still need to work on my colouring, I'll get there.  *note to self, watch more of Alyce's classes.

I hope you guys like this and thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

WOYWW 316 & Graduation Card

Hi WOYWW-ers!

How you guys doing?  I've missed a few, I've been busy and then unwell... :( it's rubbish! I'm better now and getting back on top of things - yeay!  Now if you are new here and wondering just what the heck I'm on about, please stop by the amazing Julia's blog here.  My desk looks REALLY dark, I don't know why, cos it's not... iPhone camera probably focussing on the lightest part of the area and I didn't realise.

The project I'm currently working on is a Graduation card for my friend's lovely girl Laura, she's graduating with her degree in Accountancy - clever cookie that she is.   It would all woosh over my head!

I had a few ideas about what to do with this card, I knew I wanted stars there to be stars, I knew I wanted it to be black, but it kinda stopped there! Then this spilled out...
I know it's not a traditional graduation card, but I like that the quote says (in my mind anyway) that she worked hard for this and the future is in her hands and no one elses.  I hope she likes it.

I had wanted to buy her a gift, but she has the typical graduation presents, so with some money she can use this to buy something or put it toward her last big holiday before she starts her CA training later in the in year.  I made a little money pouch to put inside.

The ingredients to my card were mainly from my stash.  The sentiment is LOTV and is silver heat embossed on black papermania card.  The stars paper is so old I can't remember where it is from.  The stripes is part of the Mr. & Mrs. LOTV Paperpad.  Gems, Ribbon & Button from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by guys, be hopping your blogs to see what you have all been working on shortly!

SLC - Chanel with Butterflies Card

Hey Guys,

I have been beavering away with Crafting and so trying to keep up with blogging too - makes a change!

Today's card is one using, again, one of my Scruffy Little Cat Stamps - Chanel.  I recommend using EZ Mount Foam on these stamps though, the detail can be difficult to get to stamp well if you don't.  I've been practising my colouring with these but I have a small problem, I have two E11 and I keep forgetting that one is done and needs throwing out and end up accidentally using it and it's that naff half dry half wet way... so it never blends well :( Anyhoo, I still enjoyed colouring this one up with my Copics, regardless of me not being that great - need to take more of my classes.

I wanted to make her hair more fiery in colour - got to for my fellow natural and bottle redheads out there.  So I used a more fire colour first then a darker brown colour to tone it down a bit, it's more red in person that it's photographing.

My papers are a mix of the Mr & Mrs set from LOTV and a Papermania Paper set.  Tags are Magnolia Doohickey Vintage Tags and the Butterflies come from the Joy Crafts Butterflies Borders 1 Die.  I cut them into 2 to separate them out.  Ribbons and gems are from my stash.

Here's a close up of my girl coloured.

Hope you guys like!  Thanks for stopping by.  Lyns xx

Father's Day Mister, Mister

Eurgh... Monday Again,

My car is making a funny noise, only when I turn left, these things upset my world....

Anyhoo, I got a few cards made at the weekend, it is father's day in the UK soon, right? I have no idea, I jumped on the bandwagon and made this for my Dad.  I'm so glad there's no sports nonsense, or beers, or cars, etc. it's refreshing! I took inspiration from a card I'd seen on the Docrafts website by one of the demonstrators.

The majority of this card is from the Docrafts Mister Mister Decoupage pack.  I made the card an easel style card, matting and layering the papers and used the 'Mr Amazing' sentiment as a stopper.

I punched stars from scraps of paper and used slices of acetate to stick them to the back so they are give the appearance of bursting from the card.  I've stepped away from the Copics a bit recently, just enjoying actually creating something relatively quickly!
Hope you guys like! Thanks for stopping by! Lyns xx
