WOYWW 356 - What's on your Work Desk Wednesday?

Morning! Sorry all, I'm late - don't ask, it's been a bit of a rocket start to the morning.  This going forward an hour for springtime, somehow it is impacting on me worse than jetlag.  I don't want to get up in the morning, nor does Molly, so at least I am not the only one.

I have been completely absorbed in my crafting lately, I made about 10 projects over the Easter weekend, it was great to get to sit and be absorbed in what I love.  I seem to still be have the crafty bug, as you can see on my desk I have printed a load of the Betty's images to colour.  I print the images I want to work with in the size I want and then another sheet with them shrunk down to test my copics on - just so I don't spoil the images.

Here is another shot of my images.  You can purchase Betty's Stamps here.  She has some brilliant offers on so stop by to see her great work.

If you are new to WOYWW and would like to know why I am inviting you to creep on my desk, please check out Julia's great blog - I wish her a speedy recovery. Please make sure to share the love too.

This image was free for the March Progressive challenge on Betty's Facebook group. She so kindly gives away a free image for you to make into a project. The opening window for it is short though - only 24 hours.  However you can buy it there after here. The challenge this month was to colour one of the images of Pin Up Betty Normal or Zombie  (you can see I went with normal, but I will be buying the Zombie version too) then for the Normal Challenge was use at least 2 designer papers and at least 1 embellishment. This is what I came up with, I'm not happy with two of my choices of paper - but hey it's done now!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm looking forward to seeing all your desks! Don't forget to say hey so I can visit you too! Lyns xx

Decopatch and Betty Daft!

I hope you are all doing good and had a lovely Easter if you celebrate.  I had Friday and Monday off work which was great, I spent some serious time at my desk crafting.  I produced a lot of projects - it was great to get peace and not distraction to just sit and create.

I have been decopatching again too - I bought this love hollow love heart from The Range, I decopatched this and added the L to both sides, this is a dovecraft stricker.  You could easily make your own if you have a steady hand.  I added the lace to hang it.

I also bought in Betty's amazing sale, the Aquarius Betty digi stamp.  You can find all her digi stamps at simplybstamps.net - they are amazing! If you spend over $25 you can use the code 50OFF for a 50% discount! Which is pretty awesome, she has a few offers on at the moment, please join her Facebook group if you'd like to see all the info!

I also made the frame for this... ok I know it's a bit lopsided but that definitely makes it unique! She is coloured with copics and a little bit of glitter glue accents.  I used some acetate to act as the 'glass' for the frame which I added a layer of glitter mod-podge to.

I hope you like guys, I've been practicing my colouring, hopefully you can tell! Thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

WOYWW 355 - What's on your Work Desk Wednesday?

Happy WOYWW Everyone!

Now I know that today's photograph looks like it's not that messy - but you can't see what's behind me... disaster, that's what. If you would like to see what us desk stalkers are all about, please check out Julia's amazing blog and say I sent you!

I was in the process of making my neighbour's daughter a 1st Birthday Card, she's a little cutie and they are lovely people so I thought it would be nice to mark the occasion.

I tried to break away from my usual layouts and again keeping away from my SLC stamps.  What do you guys think?  I like this layout, I will need to challenge myself to really keep mixing it up a bit.

The ingredients for my card are as follows:

LOTV Papers
LOTV Stamp coloured with Copics
Ribbon Girl Ribbon
Glitter Paper from Papermania
LOTV Sentiment
Gems are Dovecraft
Button is from my stash
Glitter Glue

Lastly, here is a little up close of my colouring.

I hope you guys are all good, thanks for stopping by my blog, don't forget to comment so I can say hi to you too.  Take care, Lyns xx

New Baby Card & Molly

Hey-Hey Everyone,

I am in the crafting zone at the moment - making the most of it whilst it's here :o) This is for my friend who is expecting a baby soon, I thought the colours were neutral enough to make it a boy or a girl card... cos it's going to be a surprise!

I'm being very heavy on the LOTV theme, again keeping away from my Scruffy Little Cat stamps and I've been trying to shake up my layouts a bit - but I'm not doing very well.  I need some more sketches to follow I think.

The card ingredients are as follows:

LOTV papers
LOTV Stamp
Papermania Ribbon Pack
Charm - Ribbon Girl
Diamante's are Dovecraft - I think!

I also thought I'd share you a photo of Molly in the car, she loves the little side window in the boot - we are waiting on my sister arriving with her dog in this photo.  I'm lucky, it's VERY rare for Molly to jump over the back seat so I don't need to have a dog guard.   I feel really bad for people who's dogs aren't great in the car, Molly would sit in there all day if she could, she tries to get in other peoples cars sometimes!

Here she is having a treat after a walk, her bowl is shaped like a heart - cute, isn't it?

Well I'll see you all tomorrow for a bit of desk stalking! Beware! Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to leave me a comment so I can pop by your blog too.  Lyns xx

Parisian Flapper Lady

How's Everyone doing today? Getting closer to the weekend - anyone got anything fun planned?

Today's make is a card using my Parisian Papers - AGAIN.  I love them, they are so soft, feminine and delicate and I thought this stamp was just shouting to be used with them.  The stamp is an Art Deco Flapper Girl, I cannot remember where I bought her I'm afraid.  Coloured with copics and a little bit of glitter glue to the bodice and cap.  My friend said I had been using the Scruffy Little Cat images too much which is why I pulled this one out.  I will challenge myself to make a load of cards without using the SLC stamps.

I used a template to create the shaped card, the papers are the Dovecraft Paris Pad. Ribbon is from Papermania, lace is from the Ribbon Girl. Pearls are dovecraft, I thought they suited this colour scheme perfectly.  The glitter card is from my stash.

Next time I will try to break away from my 'style' of card too - see if I can't mix things up a bit. Hope you are like this one.

Take care, thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment so I can visit your blog too.  Lyns xx

WOYWW 354 - Decopatch First Go!

Happy WOYWW - welcome to my desk, to see what us desk creeps are all about, please check out Julia's superb blog.  I swear we are not weird... well maybe a little.

In this desk shot, I'm working on some decopatch, decided to give it a go.  I guess I've already been doing it by glittering up glasses but this time I bought a little cardboard unicorn and trinket box to work with.

This is whilst the glue was still drying, I definitely will be playing around with more of these projects and hopefully will get a little bit better over time.

Here's my unicorn all dried and finished, I sealed it off with a sparkle gloss mod-podge finish.

Added a couple of the anita's gems for some eyes, do you think they look ok or a bit weird?

Thanks for dropping by, don't forget to comment so I can visit your blog too! Lyns xx

Bubble Bath Parisian Beauty Card - A Practice Colour

Heya Everyone,

Hope you are all well, it's a bit of a dull day here - but it was a beaut of a weekend, I was visiting my Grandparents in Inverness.  I act as a bit of a chauffeur and ask my Granny where she'd like to go, my Granda's not as confident driving these days so I take them off the further away places.

Molly loves to visit them, their dog Lassie (the Collie) is like her friend, they get on great together. My Grandparents think Molly is a great dog - they are right!

I've been practising my colouring alongside Alyce's videos, I was trying to get more depth and dimension on this colouring, the legs are definitely better but her face looks a little bit dirty - we've worked out that I've layered up too much.  I will practice more.

The stamp is from Scruffy Little Cat and she's coloured with copics and a little bit of glitter glue.  The papers are the Dovecraft Sweet Paris Collection.  Lace is from The Ribbon Girl and the Heart Pearls are from my stash.  I love these Parisian Papers, they are so soft, feminine and romantic feeling, I will definitely be making more projects with them.

A close up of my skin practice - see what I mean about the dirty face - definitely feel her legs are better though.

On a separate note I LOVE my new car, it was great to get a big drive at the weekend and the mileage per gallon return is just superb.  I'm taking my girls out for some ice cream tomorrow night in her, I might even let them drive her :o)

Thanks for stopping by my blog - keep visiting for more projects and don't forget to leave a comment so I can come see your blog too. Lyns xx

WOYWW353 - What's on your Work Desk Wednesday?

My apologies for being a bit missing in action during February, an awful lot going on behind the scenes I'm afraid.  I am back for now though, still crafting, just not blogging so much.

Today's desk shot (find out about us desk stalkers at Julia's incredible blog here) was taken whilst I was doing some practice colouring underway, I have been doing little bits of my colouring classes from Kit & Clowder, I cannot recommend Alyce's colouring tutorials enough if you are interested in learning more.

I'm trying to practice as much as possible, but sometimes life just gets in the way - it's so annoying how it does that at times :o)

In other happy news, I bought a new car, which so far I love <3 nbsp="" p="">

I have never chosen my own car before, I kind of inherited my old one - which I miss, though I'm happy to be driving something with a bit more fuel economy.  I wish I wasn't one of those people that needs the car but I do, I work in the sticks and travel to demolition sites as part of my job. It is a lovely car to drive and you can't beat the colour - I wish it was still this shiny... 2 days of owning it and already it's mauchit as us Scots say.

Thanks for stopping by, look forward to creeping all your desks! Lyns xx

LOTV James Butterflies Birthday Box Card

Morning All,

It's a beautiful morning here today, so nice, frosty but such lovely sunshine. I love days like this.  I love getting up and walking the dog and feeling the cold sting my face a little... it makes me feel fresh.

My card today is a box card for my Granny's birthday next Monday. I made it more of a square shape than a rectangle this time, I like how it's turned out being a bit smaller.  If you have never made a box card, it's worth giving it a go for something a little bit different, I find people are normally quite impressed when they receive one.  Templates are readily available on Pinterest and YouTube tutorials if you get really stuck.

I am entering this card into the LOTV Spring Facebook Challenge.  The sentiment stamps, image and papers are all LOTV - unfortunately the papers are discontinued.  James Bear is coloured with copics, I'm still trying to work on the fur texture.  The stick on gems are from my stash and the sparkly clouds were cut using a die then stuck to acetate to make them appear like they are floating.  I really should've used wire though, the clouds appear a bit drunk depending on the angle.

I hope you like my card for today.  In other news I bought a new car at the weekend, I'm very sad to say goodbye to my car, but it was time for him to live with a new family.  I'm excited to get my car at lunchtime today :o)

Thanks for stopping by, Lyns xx

Scruffy Little Cat - Mother's Day Card

Hello All - I know, where do I think I have been?! Terrible blogger.  I have been crafting, I've got lots and lots of cards to share, just no blog posts - time is the enemy people.

Today's card is a Card for my Mum for Mother's Day.  I wanted it to be quite girly but hopefully not too prissy.  I think the image helps on this front.  I have also been taking more colouring classes - so will upload my image for critique from Alyce at Kit & Clowder

My stamp and sentiment are limited edition from Scruffy Little Cat. She's coloured with Copics, I added some glitter glue to the bottle, bubbles etc. Papers are the Sweet Paris Collection from Dovecraft - they are gorgeous papers, I love all the designs, there's going to be a lot of Parisian themed cards coming from me. The lace, ribbons and large diamante button are from The Ribbon Girl.  Smaller gems are from my stash.

I made a template for the shape of this card from some I bought previously.  I like that they are a little bit different and not always square.

Lastly a little close up of my colouring.  I have lots of photos of my work so there should hopefully be more blog posts a-coming.  I'm just a bit lax... my bad.

Thanks for stopping by, take care, Lyns xx
